Joseph M Matalon A decision in October by the chairman of the RJRGleaner Group Joseph M Matalon, to endorse his friend and business colleague Mark Golding for the presidency of the People’s National Party (PNP) has led the board  of the media company to update its corporate governance guidelines which now restrict political affiliation for directors. At the same time, Matalon, who told the board in October to consider whether he should continue as chairman following public backlash over his endorsement, said Monday that he would never again publicly endorse a political candidate in his capacity as chairman of the media company.
