An expectant mother, who s 33 weeks pregnant, contacted Radio Kerry because she was not allowed bring her partner in for a scan at UHK although women who are 20 weeks pregnant are allowed to bring their partner. In response, University Hospital Kerry said its current restrictions are based on Ireland South Guidelines and are in line with the current national advice. The hospital says due to social distancing, it s not possible to facilitate partners attendance at routine scans. However, partners are allowed to attend the 20-week anatomy scan, while they are also present with women in labour and during childbirth.
