The water tower set to be rehabbed and repainted is located on Airline Drive at Barksdale Boulevard. The patriotic theme follows the one being used on several other water towers in Bossier City, including the award-winning tower on Shed Road that can be seen from I-220. That tower beat out 300 towers from around the country and was named TNEMEC’s People’s Choice Award for Tank of the Year last October 2020. Our tower is being featured alongside the eleven runners-up in Tnemec s annual water tank calendar.

Visitors to Coastal Carolina Regional Airport (EWN) expecting delays in their commute this morning were in for a pleasant surprise. The closure of Old Airport Road originally scheduled to begin today due to repair work has been rescheduled for next week.
According to the City of New Bern Public Works Department, the replacement of two culverts that would have closed Old Airport Road between March 15-19 from Austin Avenue to Creekside Elementary School has been postponed because of potential severe weather forecast for this week.
Public Works and the S.T. Wooten Corporation have rescheduled the replacement of the two culverts, which cross Old Airport Road, for March 22-26. Public Works said that the culverts need to remain in place this week to allow for water flow should rain affect the area.
