T-storms could drop more hail

Severe Weather Outlook for tonight is a slight risk east of the Mississippi River. Tuesday afternoon map shows a stationary front and low pressure system to the south. Hi-Lo Chart - Next 7 Days for the La Crosse area. Large hail early this morning… Isolated storms popped up late last night and produce larger sized hail from Winona County into Southern Trempealeau County. Hailstones up to an inch and a half fell on a few locations, and the same front may become active again this evening. Storm system approaches… The next storm is headed into the region, with more clouds and increasing chances of rain. This evening t-storms will make a run at the area. Much needed rain is likely, but we will be monitoring the storms for potential large hail. It would appear that the main threat for strong winds and other severe weather will be south.

Highs today only managed into the lower to middle 40s, well below the normal highs which are in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Another cold night… Lows will be in the 20s to lower 30s Thursday morning, but warmer highs will develop for Thursday afternoon. Expect 50s to lower 60s. Rain and snow chance this evening… Very cold air aloft with some moisture led to afternoon clouds and a few pop up showers today. They remain very light and a few flakes of snow are still possible into the evening. The clouds and showers will dissipate overnight.
