Showers, severe thunderstorms possible Wednesday across DC region
WASHINGTON - Morning showers - and maybe a few gusty thunderstorms - will move through earlier than usual Wednesday ahead of a cool front. FOX 5 s Sue Palka says the commute may need a few extra minutes as the rain moves across the region. We can t rule out a few showers this afternoon but the bulk of the wet weather looks to fall before noon today.

Once again today, we may have to watch for a few thunderstorms by late afternoon but the risk is marginal or isolated and there isn t a big atmospheric trigger for storm development.
Rain showers and thunderstorms threaten DC region Monday
Jennifer Delgado says the morning hours will start off mild with a few showers with the heavier thunderstorms developing by the afternoon.
The D.C. region is under a Marginal Risk for severe storms with the threat hail and damaging winds. Models are showing a line of storms this evening closer to rush hour.
The storm threat returns Tuesday afternoon and likely will continue through Wednesday.

We will also notice the humidity level creeping up and temperatures soar once again into the upper 80s Tuesday and close to 80 degree on Wednesday.
Windy Friday with strong gusts up to 50 mph possible; passing shower later in the day
In fact, the wind gusts could reach 30 to 50 mph this afternoon which could damage trees and lines so power outages may be possible. These strong winds look to continue through Friday night. Take a few minutes early today to secure loose objects outside.

The cold front that passed through last night is also bringing cooler air back into the area for the next 48 hours. Temperatures this afternoon will range between 65 and 70, and overnight we fall into the 40s.

Thursday will be a bit cooler but temperatures will still be back in the mid-80s which is well above average for late April. It will be cloudier day today and as a frontal boundary approaches there could be scattered showers or a thunderstorm passing through. Temperatures top out in the low-to-mid 80s this afternoon and it will be a bit more humid.
