DALLAS It’s a fact of life.
Girls get their periods.
It causes anxiety and embarrassment and nobody likes to talk about it.
“I will get my period all of a sudden and I struggle a lot,” said Jeorgina Gonzalez, a senior at Dallas’s Skyline High School.
“You go to the restroom and you have to ask someone like, ‘Oh, do you have a menstrual product I can use?’ And they’re like, ‘I don’t have one because I’m not in my days.’”

ANN ARBOR, MI - Seniors at Ann Arbor’s three largest high schools will have in-person, outdoor graduation ceremonies.
State restrictions on public gatherings prevent Ann Arbor Public Schools from having traditional, large indoor ceremonies, Superintendent Jeanice Swift said. But Pioneer, Huron and Skyline high schools will host two ceremonies with half the class in each outside so family members can attend and the district can remain in state compliance.
AHSAA softball postseason play begins next week across the state with area tournaments.
Four Jackson County teams will host area tournaments, with Skyline hosting the Class 1A Area 15 Tournament, Pisgah hosting the 2A Area 15 Tournament, North Jackson hosting the 4A Area 14 Tournament and Scottsboro hosting the 6A Area 15 Tournament.
Area tournament champions and runners-up both advance to play in the North Softball Regional May 12-15 at Coffee OâNeal Park in Florence.
