A mortar that possibly dates back to the Korean War era and may have been live was taken to a bar in Nimrod, authorities said.
According to the Wadena County Sheriff s Office, a person reported finding a mortar that was possibly live at about 3:31 p.m. Sunday.
The caller told deputies they d taken the mortar to Nimrod Bar to show others.
Law enforcement arrived and took possession of the mortar. The individuals told law enforcement they d been using a metal detector at the Shell City bridge.
The sheriff s office said it was unclear if the mortar was live or not, but it will be disposed of safely.
