Updated: 9:21 PM CDT Apr 6, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital UPDATE 4/6: The Birmingham Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting on Vanderbilt Road April 1.Officer Truman Fitzgerald says 29-year-old Jasmine Drake, of Birmingham, is charged with capital murder in the death of 44-year-old Louis Bryant.Investigators say the shooting took place in front of children under the age of 14 that were related to Bryant.Drake is in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond. A homicide investigation is underway in Birmingham after a man was found shot to death early Thursday morning.Sgt. Rodarius Mauldin says officers responded to a call of a person shot at 1516 Vanderbilt Road around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. At the scene, officers found 44-year-old Louis Bryant, of Birmingham, laying unresponsive on the floor inside of the residence.Mauldin says Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and attempted life-saving measures on Bryant, but were unsuccessful.Investigat
