Ole Miss keeps NCAA tourney hopes alive with 60-53 win at No. 24 Missouri
Ole Miss defeated No. 24 Missouri, 60-53, Wednesday night in Columbia to keep the Rebels’ NCAA tournament hopes alive.

The situation looked a tad bleak Saturday after Ole Miss suffered a discouraging loss to in-state rival Mississippi State, but head coach Kermit Davis’ bunch just kept grinding.
The Rebels had been riding high on a four-game win streak that sparked the team and the fanbase. After the loss to the Bulldogs, however, the Rebels fell to 62nd in the all-important NCAA NET rankings. In order to keep the postseason dream alive, Ole Miss needed to get back to its winning ways but would have to do so on the road against the nation’s No. 24 team.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Jalen Tate had a season-high 25 points with eight assists and just one turnover while Moses Moody added a game-high 26 points with seven rebounds to lead Arkansas to a 92-71 victory over Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.
Tate was also a star on the defensive end. Not only did he have four steals, but he was also assigned to Vandy’s Scotty Pippen Jr., who entered the game as the league’s second-leading scorer. Pippen scored 15 points, his second-lowest output of the season and lowest in an SEC game this year, and he was just 3-of-4 at the free throw line. (He entered the game fourth in the league in free throws made.)
FAYETTEVILLE – Arkansas will compile even more frequent flyer miles with a trip to Vanderbilt this weekend. The Razorbacks and Commodores will meet for the 51st time in the series on Saturday (Jan. 23) with tipoff set for Noon. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
Arkansas leads the all-time series, 38-12, including six straight wins and winning 10 of the last 11.
Vanderbilt leads 8-7 in games played in Memorial Gym.
With its game at Vanderbilt Saturday, Arkansas opens SEC play with five of its first eight on the road. Add a game at Oklahoma State (SEC/Big 12 Challenge) to close the month of January, the Hogs are in the midst of playing six of 10 games on the road.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KAIT) - Desi Sills bounced back in style Wednesday night.
The Jonesboro High alum had 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal. Arkansas snapped a 2 game skid with a 75-73 win over Auburn. The Razorbacks improve to 11-4 overall, 3-4 in Southeastern Conference play. Sills was in the postgame spotlight on the SEC Network.
Arkansas trailed by as much as 19 points in the comeback victory. Sills was one of 4 Hogs in double figures. Jalen Tate had 14 pts, Justin Smith & Davonte Davis had 10 pts each. West Memphis alum Chris Moore had 3 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in 12 minutes of action with Auburn.

Don Brown was terminated on Tuesday, setting the stage for Michigan’s head football coach, Jim Harbaugh, to welcome in a new defensive coordinator.
Who that might be, and when, remains unclear but late-December is typically the time for such a move. The season is winding down and the coaching market is bustling with options of coaches who were fired for struggles elsewhere, or an up-and-comer at a smaller school looking for a bigger opportunity.
