Davenport s Hilltop Campus Village in Transition with New Boss, Many Projects | Quad Cities > QuadCities com

Thousands of runners who braved the scorching heat early Saturday, July 24 for the Bix 7 race got a glimpse of the heart of the Hilltop Campus Village (HCV) in Davenport. Though they likely did not stop then for a stirring jolt of coffee or admire some of the area’s striking architecture, Scott Tunnicliff and Molly Molly Otting Carlson will start as new HCV executive director on Aug. 2. Otting Carlson certainly hope they’ll be back soon to take in all the area has to offer. Tunnicliff – an avuncular, dedicated 66-year-old economic development leader – recently retired as the first HCV director in its 12-year history. Carlson, a 52-year-old Davenport native, left her job as a vice president at Visit Quad Cities to take the reins of the nonprofit (and only Main Street Iowa organization in Scott County) as of Aug. 2.

Stanford holds off Arizona 54-53 to win third women s NCAA title

“Getting through all the things we got through, we’re excited to win the COVID championship,” VanDerveer said. ”The other one was not quite as close, the last one. But we’re really excited. No one knows the score, no one knows who scored, it’s a national championship.” It wasn’t a masterpiece by any stretch with both teams struggling to score and missing easy layups and shots, but Stanford did just enough to pull off the win it’s second straight by a point. Stanford (31-2) built a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter before Arizona (21-6) cut it to 51-50 on star guard Aari McDonald’s 3-pointer.

Exemplar Care launches 24/7 urgent care clinic

Exemplar Care launches 24/7 urgent care clinic Friday, March 12, 2021 6:00 AM A West Des Moines physician who is beginning his third year operating a direct primary care practice has now launched a 24-hour urgent care/extended care clinic as an additional service for his members, but the clinic will also provide a much-needed off-hours community resource to the public. More than 500 Central Iowa patients are currently enrolled as members of Exemplar Care, a direct primary care practice established by Dr. Jon Van Der Veer in January 2019. The steady revenue stream from the flat fee member rates paid by his patients has made it possible for him to launch the 24/7 urgent care clinic. It’s located in an expanded facility he’s moved into at 7300 Westown Parkway, Suite 330. The urgent care clinic officially opened on Feb. 15.
