Voting underway in elections to 2 Telangana MLC seats
Polling is underway on Sunday in the keenly-contested elections to Telangana Legislative Council from two Graduates constituencies where former prime minister P V Narasimha Rao s daughter S Vani Devi fielded by the TRS and 163 other candidates are testing their fortunes.
Voting began at 8 AM and would continue till 4 PM for the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates constituencies which witnessed intense campaign by the ruling TRS, BJP, Congress, and others.
The TRS is keen to win the two seats following unexpected setbacks in the Dubbak assembly bypoll and Hyderabad civic polls late last year and deployed ministers, MPs, and other leaders for campaigning. BJP had won the Dubbak seat besides bagging a significant number of wards in the city polls.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], March 14 (ANI): Congress National Spokesperson Sravan Dasoju on Sunday condemned the widespread election violations by the ruling TRS party during two MLC polls across the state and demanded immediate action against the violators including the Home Minister, Mahmood Ali, who has openly divulged the candidate s name for whom he had cast his vote.
The senior Congress party leader finds fault with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) stating that the CEO has gone blind and surrendered to the ruling TRS party and failed in curtailing violations during elections.

Hyderabad: The TRS Working President KTR intensified the attack on BJP for making baseless allegations on the TRS government and CM KCR.
Defending his stand on Vizag Steel Plant (VSP), Working President KTR said that the central government is on the verge of selling VSP, and Singareni and BHEL could be the next to be privatized. The TRS working president said he would raise the issue and extend all support to steel plant employees. Isn t Andhra Pradesh a part of India? I will question if something wrong is happening said KTR
Giving a fitting reply to the BJP remarks of labeling the TRS government as anti-employee government, TRS working president KTR said that the BJP Government at the Center had given 14% PRC for employees in 2016. That before the introduction of GST and demonstration, when the economic situation in the country was much stable. On the contrary, the TRS Government offered 43 percent fitment to the State employees, he said.
