HAMPTON Look up the etymology of “entrepreneur” and you’ll find it comes from the combination of two Latin words - “entre” to swim out, and “prendes” to grasp, understand or capture.
And if you look at the life of Tom Moulton, you can understand why he is the University of New Hampshire’s Paul J. Holloway Entrepreneur of the Year.
Ask Moulton himself what it means to be an entrepreneur, the answer belies an individual who, starting at age 10 with a paper route in Danvers, Massachusetts, has reached out to catch and understand a myriad of business opportunities.
“Even today, at 65, I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up,” said Moulton. “People ask me: What do you do for a living? And I say: I don t really know. I ve never had a resume. I ve never been on a job interview.”
