HERE AT WACHUSETT, THE MOUNTAIN IS IN GREAT SHAPE, NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF SNOWMAKING CAPABILITY, BUT ALSO 14 INCHES OF NATURAL SNOW FROM THE STORM LAST THURSDAY. THAT MAKES FOR A GREAT START TO THE SEASON. STILL, THE ISSUE HERE IS THE PANDEMIC. LIKE MANY MOUNTAINS, WACHUSETT IS LIMITING CAPACITY TO 50%, WHICH IS TOUGH, CONSIDERING THERE IS, SHALL WE SAY A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE HERE IN MASSACHUSETTS. WE IN LIMITE

With the unpredictability of this year, it’s no surprise people are a little fearful for what new challenges winter will bring. I’ve always embraced winter activities. We live in New York; we basically have no choice but to find ways to love it.

HOLIDAY ART DISPLAY: The “From Russia with Art Holiday” exhibit will be on display at The Picture Place, 320A Harvard St., Brookline, through Dec. 30.
The exhibition is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturdays.
The exhibition is curated by Olesya and Jerry Koenig and Tom Coppi. Masks and social distancing are required. Etchings, oil paintings and mixed media will be on display.
Featured artists are Anatoly Dverin, Alexander Korman, Misha Lenn, Stanislav Nikireev, Alexander Vetrov, Irena Makoveeva, George Lapchinsky and Vladimir Vorobyov.
