After a contractor hired by state Senate Republicans to look into the results of the 2020 Arizona election provided an update on its findings at a legislative hearing on July 15, former President Donald Trump issued a series of false and misleading statements about what it has uncovered.
According to Trump, the firm has uncovered a “massive number of voter irregularities and fraud” in what he called a “corrupted election” in Maricopa County, the fourth most populous county in the country.
“Arizona shows Fraud and Voting Irregularities many times more than would be needed to change the outcome of the Election,” wrote Trump, who is scheduled to attend the “Rally To Protect Our Elections” in Phoenix on July 24. But the company didn’t present evidence of such widespread fraud.
Each of Burien’s 14 city council candidates is asking for your vote in the Aug. 3, 2021 primary election.
“I’m ready to steward Burien forward, and I humbly ask for your vote to help make that happen,” Position No. 1 candidate Hugo Garcia says in his Voters’ Pamphlet statement.
“I know that when everyone votes, democracy, progressive values, and most of all the people, win,” Position No. 5 candidate Georgette Reyes says on her campaign website.
But how consistently have this year’s candidates fulfilled their most basic civic duty? The B-Town Blog set out to answer that question by reviewing each candidate’s public voting records going back 10 years to 2011.
The current audit is not the first of Maricopa County. Back in November 2020, the first official audit verified Biden s win, followed by a second months later. In what can only be seen as a bid to challenge the truth, the GOP requested the third audit, by a group with no experience in election auditing. So far, nothing has turned up out of the ordinary, but the GOP continues to claim fraud took place.
