There has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 and another probable case of the virus associated with Walkerton District Community School.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit’s assessment of the cases indicated no evidence that transmission had taken place within the school environment, according to a news release issued Sunday night. There are no school bus routes involved with the case.

Public health will contact anyone who has had close contact with someone known to have COVID-19, based on a thorough risk assessment.

Public Health is reporting 11 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Grey Bruce.
On Saturday, three cases were confirmed in Owen Sound, three in Brockton, two in Chatsworth, two in Hanover and one in Grey Highlands during the 24 period ending at 11:59 January 30th.
800 Doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Grey and Bruce.
With one resolved case, the Health Unit says there are 39 confirmed active cases in the region and one active probable case. Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but are symptomatic and are high-risk contacts of an active case.
Public Health reports three people are hospitalized.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit say two individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend are associated with Walkerton District Community School.
They believe the transmission did not take place at the school or childcare centre and therefore no outbreak has been declared.
The health unit have also determined that transmission did not occur on school buses.
They say they are in the process of contact tracing and anyone who is deemed high risk will be contacted directly.

The assessment by the health unit had yet to show any evidence that transmission of the virus took place at the school,according to a news release issued on Sunday evening.
