Former Sarasota County man and his girlfriend charged in U.S. Capitol riots
A former Sarasota County man and his girlfriend, who now live in Middleburg, are accused of storming the U.S. Capitol based on tips received by the FBI.
Rachael Lynn Pert, 40, and Dana Joe Winn, 45, have each been charged with two misdemeanors – knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority to do so, and willfully and knowingly parade, demonstrate, or picket in any of the Capitol Buildings.
Winn attended Lemon Bay High School in Englewood, according to his Facebook profile.
The Middleburg couple faced a federal magistrate on Tuesday after being charged in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to the Florida Times-Union. Each faces up to 18 months behind bars and fines totaling $105,000 if they’re convicted, Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Cofer Taylor told the pair.
