The most impressive home and furniture sales typically fall around President s Day, Memorial Day and Labor Day, but that doesn t mean you can t score big deals during other times of the year. Wayfair, in particular, holds major sales on Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Way Day, an annual two-day shopping event with sales up to 80% off its most popular items.
But even though you ll have to wait until next April to score more Way Day deals, Wayfair currently has sales on tons of furniture, lighting, decorative accents and just about everything else to give your home a seasonal refresh. Right now, you can score big deals on larger furniture pieces like sleeper sofas, desks and outdoor patio sets. If you re looking for a more affordable way to spruce up your space, there are also smaller accent pieces on sale, everything from patterned area rugs to cozy bedding. Donors rely on accountability
We relied on Nate Bruckner, who in five years as United Way of Indian River County’s director of community impact has become an expert on the agencies. He also knows how much donors care about nonprofits successfully reaching goals to help people in need.
“You want to make sure they’re being run as businesses, even if they’re nonprofits,” he said, adding that transparency is critical.
Meredith Egan, who became CEO in January after almost seven years with the agency, concurred.
“It really needs to be about the impact (these agencies have),” she said, noting the agency hoped to distribute about $1.8 million this year. “We’re trying to get away from being seen as just a fundraising organization.”

DUNCAN, Okla. (TNN) - Friday, volunteers headed to nonprofits across Stephens County for the United Way Day of Caring.
Volunteers got the chance to give back to 13 organizations that mean a lot to the Stephens County community.
“We want to make sure that those local nonprofits that help out our community have everything they need so we want to help them out as well,” said Nicole Punneo, the Day Chair for the 2021 United Way Day of Caring.
