MASSACHUSETTS Massachusetts reported an increase in coronavirus cases and positive test rates Thursday, but the daily death rate continued to fall as vaccinations proceeded.
Around 40 percent of Massachusetts cities and towns reported rising coronavirus positive test rates in the latest Department of Health town-by-town report. But over 120 communities didn t report a single positive test over the past two weeks.
The weekly average positive test rate rose from 0.51 percent to 0.78 percent. The low was 0.31 percent, on June 25. The average case count rose to 134.7, more than double the June 25 low of 63.9.
