LIVE venues and theatres in Ryedale are excited to open their doors following an extremely tough year. In plans set out by Boris Johnson to ease the UK’s third COVID-19 national lockdown, it was heard that indoor performances will reopen in stage three of the new roadmap, “with social distancing”. Many concert halls and theatres are preparing to reopen from May 17, with an eagerly anticipated summer programme. Helmsley Arts Centre (HAC) has announced their plans to reopen on May 18 (Tuesday) with a range of activities, cinema screenings and live performances. It’s certainly been an extremely tough year, said Natasha Jones, artistic director at HAC.
