Bend-Redmond Habitat seeking to fill six AmeriCorps construction crew leader positions
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity has been awarded six AmeriCorps National Construction Crew Leader positions and is looking for motivated, qualified candidates to serve locally during the 2021-2022 service year, which begins in August.
Habitat AmeriCorps members serve in full-time, paid stipend positions, helping to meet the housing needs of communities and low to moderate income families across the U.S.
Applicants accepted as Habitat AmeriCorps members serving with Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity will be integral in the organization’s effort to provide more affordable homeownership opportunities in the Bend and Redmond communities. As Bend and Redmond continue to grow, so does the gap between wages and housing costs. It is extremely challenging for many low to moderate income families and individuals to become homeowners in our area. So, to do their part to address this

$400,000 Granted To Local Non Profits
Bend Foundation is donating $400,000 in grants to Central Oregon nonprofit organizations. A total of $200,000 was granted to Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity to support its goals for providing decent and affordable housing for Central Oregonians in need. The other half of the total amount was granted primarily to organizations in Bend that are addressing pandemic-related food, clothing, shelter, support and economic issues.
Robin Cooper Engle, vice president of resource development for Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity, said, “With Bend Foundation’s support for our Humanity In Action campaign, Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity takes a big step forward in delivering greater opportunity for working families to become homeowners. Health care providers, teachers, small business owners and others deserve the opportunity to own a home and build a brighter, more stable future for their families.”

Application deadline coming soon for Habitat’s new Redmond townhomes
REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) There is just one week left to submit a housing application for Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity’s housing program for the Quince Townhomes in Redmond.
Applications may be picked up during open hours at the Bend ReStore Cashiers Counter, Monday – Saturday from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. or
online at https://bendredmondhabitat.org/habitat-homeownership/. Applications are due Feb 1.
The contemporary style Habitat townhomes for sale in this 18-unit land-lease development are 3-bedroom, 2-bath homes including a garage. People interested in applying for these homes must meet income guidelines for Home Loan approval. This applies to residents who live and/or work in Redmond.
