According to Greg Hitchin, the city s economic development director, the idea for establishing an interpretive center focused on natural resources can be traced back to the first Virginia Fly Fishing Festival in 2000. The Center for Coldwaters Restoration, a volunteer group that was formed in 2010, helped spark the building of the education pavilion in Constitution Park along with the vision and contributions from the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Dominion Energy, a release said.

Thu, 2021-04-01 Around 4:38 p.m. today, Thursday 1st April, 2021, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Cake Shop Bakery, on Curving Avenue, Pembroke. Upon arrival officers were informed that two men brandishing firearms, entered the premises, went to the cash register and took an undisclosed quantity of cash. One suspect is described as 6’ 2” tall, slim built, light complexioned and wearing a black hoodie with his face covered. The second suspect is said to be 5’ 3” tall, stockily built, also wearing a black hoodie with his face covered. It is believed the suspects fled the scene on a motorcycle.
