BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - With New Orleans bars and certain streets closed this Mardi Gras weekend, business owners in Bay St. Louis are preparing for an influx of customers from the Big Easy.
“I hate to benefit from New Orleans’ misfortune, but many of our customers do come from the New Orleans area. So I would expect that we get a nice surge this weekend. Hopefully, they are wanting to get out and do some things and come to Bay St. Louis and shop with us,” said Jane Kulpeksa, owner of Salty Soul Outfitters.

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - Family, friends, and law enforcement officers across South Mississippi are saying farewell today to Lt. Michael Boutte.
Hundreds gathered in Bay St. Louis Tuesday for the funeral service, including dignitaries like Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, as well as officers and leadership from several law enforcement agencies across South Mississippi.

HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - Dozens of law enforcement officers from South Mississippi and Louisiana filled Highway 90 in Hancock County. A procession escorted Lt. Michael Boutte from Louisiana back home to Bay St. Louis after he was shot and killed on Monday.
As he made his way through the county, those who worked with Boutte stood outside of the sheriff’s department to pay their respect.
No Parades? No problem as local businesses and residents are still getting into the Mardi Gras spirit. Downtown Bay St. Louis has been sprinkled with some mambo magic.
