State Highway 2 has reopened after a motorcycle crash near Nūhaka left a woman with serious injuries.
The highway near Tahaenui Rd was blocked about 10.10am as the woman was flown to Hawke s Bay Hospital in a serious condition by the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter.
General manager Ian Wilmot said it was believed the woman had swerved to avoid something and skidded before crashing.

Police have charged a man with dangerous driving causing injury over a two-car crash near Clive that ended with one driver trapped in a ditch.
Paula Donkin, in her 40s, had broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a lacerated liver after the crash near the intersection of Richmond Rd and Mill Rd at 4.57pm on Saturday.
