North Bay firefighters were kept busy Wednesday morning after three fires – two deemed suspicious – were reported in just under 45 minutes.
North Bay Fire Chief Jason Whiteley said one tenant at the building at 1128 O’Brien St. was taken to hospital with injuries sustained while trying to flee his residence. The person did not suffer burns or smoke inhalation injuries.

“The tenant was able to get out, but was taken to hospital” by North Bay paramedics for treatment, Whiteley said.

Two people have been taken to hospital for treatment following a large fire Monday morning at the downtown Midas shop at the corner of Main Street East and Fisher Street.
The call for the fire came in at approximately 10:42 a.m.

North Bay Fire Chief Jason Whiteley confirmed the two people who were taken to hospital work at the shop. However, the extent of their injuries are unknown at this time.
On a cause, Whiteley said work was taking place on a vehicle, but no further details are available yet.

The City of North Bay is accepting bids to replace bricks and roofing in the clock tower at Fire Station 1.
Documents describing the project show the city is seeking quotes from contractors to, in part, remove and replace spalling and deteriorated bricks at the Princess Street West station.
