Apr 23, 2021 About 30% of New Yorkers are fully vaccinated, and most North Country counties are on par with the state, or even have higher vaccination rates. But the region is still seeing a slight uptick in new COVID-19 cases.
Public Health officials are worried that people are letting down their guard too soon. They include Ginelle Jones, the Director of Public Health in Warren County. She herself is fully vaccinated, but she s still faithfully wearing a mask in public. And she says everyone should be doing the same.

Apr 19, 2021 According to a new poll from Siena College, 14% of New Yorkers say they don t plan to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
That s a 10% drop in vaccine hesitancy since January, when a prior Siena poll found that 25% of New Yorkers didn t plan to get vaccinated.
Subsequent polls have shown the downward trend in vaccine hesitancy dropping in recent months. In February, 22% of New Yorkers said they didn t plan to get the COVID vaccine, followed by 21% in March.

In New York City, hundreds of thousands of COVID-19 vaccine doses are now being given out each week, and everyone 16 and older is eligible for a shot. But the task of figuring out how to get one remains daunting. Some people get lucky in their quest. A friend recently stumbled upon a pop-up vaccine site in Bed Stuy, asked if any slots were available, and had a needle in her arm 10 minutes later.
