CARLINVILLE Blackburn College has received a 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education® recognition from the Arbor Day Foundation for its commitment to effective urban forest management. With a long history of leading in sustainability, Blackburn is the only college in downstate Illinois to receive this honor.
The Tree Campus Higher Education® program honors colleges and universities for effective campus forest management and for engaging staff and students in conservation goals. HIGH POINT, N.C., March 9, 2021 – High Point University has been recognized with the 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education award, formerly known as Tree Campus USA
®, marking the 12th consecutive year the university has received this designation.

HPU is one of four in North Carolina to have been honored by the Arbor Day Foundation for 10 or more years. Tree Campus Higher Education, an Arbor Day Foundation program, honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

CARBONDALE, Ill. Southern Illinois University Carbondale has earned national recognition as a 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education program, the sixth consecutive year the Arbor Day Foundation has honored the university for its commitment to effective forest management.
“Despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and having to make adjustments in the way we are doing some things, we’re proud that we continue to meet the sustainable campus standards,” Dave Tippy, superintendent of grounds, said. “We are still striving to improve the overall tree canopy on the SIU campus.”
