PDIC takes over Rural Bank of Alimodian

ILOILO CITY May 13 (PIA) - -The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) took over the Rural Bank of Alimodian (Iloilo) Inc. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. This, after the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), in Resolution No. 539.A dated May 6, 2021, prohibited the bank from doing business in the Philippines and directed PDIC, as Receiver, to proceed with the takeover and liquidation of the bank. For the safety of the bank clients and local residents, the PDIC field personnel complied with the health, quarantine and travel protocols in accordance with Resolution No. 98-A issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF), according to a PDIC press report also issued on May 12.

The descriptive study, published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, involved 100 CARP participants from June to December 2020 and found the most common ailments to be fatigue (80%), neurologic complaints like headaches (59%), and respiratory complaints like breathlessness (59%). Other symptoms included cognitive impairment, sleep disturbance, and mental health symptoms. A little over a third of patients (34%) said they had difficulties performing basic daily activities, and only one in three who had been employed had fully returned to unrestricted work by the time they were evaluated.

IATF defied as Cebu SP OKs ordinance easing travel restrictions

Published May 10, 2021, 5:25 PM CEBU CITY – A proposed ordinance that runs counter to the travel restrictions set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF-MEID) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease has been approved by the Cebu Provincial Board or Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP). The Provincial Board passed Monday an ordinance titled Easing the Restrictions for Persons Entering the Province of Cebu in Observance of the IATF-MEID Guidelines as of January 21, 2022, and the IATF-MEID Resolution No. 98-A, Series of 2021 and Defining the Protocols to be Observed by Repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Returning Non-OFWs Traveling to the Province of Cebu. The passing of the ordinance came a few days after the IATF-MEID approved the recommendation of the Department of Health (DOH) to move the COVID-19 testing for inbound travelers to the seventh day of quarantine.

PEZA locators, which include outsourcing and export-oriented firms, have been allowed to operate at a limited capacity amid the current lockdown to cushion the continuing adverse impact of COVID-19 on the economy.
