Armenia seeks Iran’s support to end Azeri encroachment on its territory – ambassador Armenia’s Ambassador to Iran Artashes Toumanian on Sunday held a meeting with Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami, the Armenian Embassy in Iran reported on Monday. Iran All in for China s Belt and Road Global Commerce Push

3 May 2021 Tehran has signed on for China’s global Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) infrastructure project, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami declared Monday. Eslami said the BRI developed by China includes “major information technology plans” that are projected to be worth billions of dollars to the country, Tasnim News Agency reports. In February, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hailed the close cooperation between Tehran and Beijing as a “win-win interaction,” saying such strategic relations help both countries expand their global footprint. In an article written for The People’s Daily on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Iran and China, Zarif expressed hope Iran would play a greater role in the BRI, as part of Tehran’s push for a global infrastructure development strategy to link Asia, Europe and beyond.

Talking to Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who is currently visiting Iran, Dr Rouhani said: “Security is a common concern of the two countries, and the development of relations in this regard is imperative.” A statement issued by the Iranian presidency on the meeting said the president underscored the need for security at the borders of the two neighbouring countries.

Pakistan opens new border crossing with Iran to boost trade, tourism--China Economic Net

Pakistan on Wednesday opened a new border crossing point with Iran to bolster economic and trade exchanges, according to local media.   The newly opened Pishin-Mand border was the third crossing point after Taftan and Gabd. The two countries inaugurated the Rimadan-Gabd border gateway in December last year, whereas the Taftan border has been operational for decades.   Located in Pakistan s southwest Balochistan province, near the country s Gwadar port, the Mand crossing point will not only facilitate import and export of goods with Iran, but also help reduce pressure on crossings in handling thousands of Pakistani pilgrims visiting Iran.   Speaking at an inaugural ceremony, Pakistan s Minister for Defense Production Zubaida Jalal termed the opening of the new crossing point with Iran historic for both countries.
