EU, GIZ and FAO sign agreement to implement agriculture, forestry project in Mongolia

2021-04-16 11:49:30 Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.  On 15 April 2021, the European Union Ambassador to Mongolia Traian Hristea, the Country Director of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Daniel Passon, the Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) in Mongolia Vinod Ahuja, and GIZ Project Manager Dr. Michael Trockenbrodt signed a Multi-Partner Contribution Agreement to implement a new cooperation project. The new cooperation project is called “Sustainable Resilient Ecosystem and Agriculture Management in Mongolia” or “STREAM” in short. STREAM aims at increasing the capacity of Mongolian communities to implement innovative and sustainable long-term landscape management to address food system challenges and climate stresses.

Cocoa4Future: putting people and the environment back at the heart of cocoa growing 19/01/2021 - Press release Making cocoa growing in West Africa more sustainable and resilient. this is the task set for the Cocoa4Future project, coordinated by CIRAD and funded by the EU DeSIRA programme and the Agence Française de Développement. Over five years, more than 150 monocrop or agroforestry cocoa plantings will be assessed from an agro-environmental point of view, while 350 farms in Ivory Coast and Ghana will benefit from support for new farmer strategies, notably as regards agroforestry. The different project partners have just signed a consortium agreement.
