NEW PORT RICHEY There s a new agreement in place between the Pasco County School Board and the Sheriff s Office regarding sharing of student data, passed unanimously without debate at Tuesday s board meeting.
School Resource Officers will no longer have access to information including individual grades, attendance, and discipline.
SRO s will also no longer have access to the district s Early Warning System, which identifies students considered off-track or at-risk.
In a statement, Sheriff Chris Nocco says the idea is to ease any anxiety parents have, as a result of misinformation perpetuated by media reports.
The Tampa Bay Times reported extensively on an intelligence policing program it said targeted middle and high schoolers along with adults, at this link:

VANCOUVER Police are looking for more information following a report of what they call an indecent act at a Surrey school. It was reported that a woman was approached by an unknown man while in the playground at Coyote Creek Elementary School Thursday. Police were told the man appeared to be exposing himself and masturbating. It was reported that the woman yelled at the man, and he fled into a nearby wooded area. The victim has not spoken to police, the RCMP said in a news release the next day. The account was reported by someone officers are calling a third party.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. â A Fort Collins middle school student has been cited for displaying a weapon at school, according to the Fort Collins Police Services.
Police received reports of a student displaying a gun and making threatening statements while on Lincoln Middle School property Wednesday.
School Resource Officers immediately made contact with the student, and the weapon was determined to be a BB gun.
The student was cited for interference with staff, faculty or students of an educational institution.

Student Cited After Displaying Gun, Making Threats At School
A middle school student was cited after displaying a gun and making threats at a Fort Collins middle school.
According to an official press release from the City of Fort Collins, Fort Collins Police received reports of a student who had displayed a gun and made threatening statements while on Lincoln Middle School property on Wednesday (Apr. 28).
School Resource Officers immediately conducted an investigation and made contact with the student after receiving reports regarding the incident. The weapon was determined to be a BB gun by officials. The student was cited for Interference with Staff, Faculty, or Students of an Educational Institution.
