DICT x DITO x LCS Group Common Tower
The DICT (Department of Information and Communications Technology) has moved further on its shared Passive Telecommunications Tower Infrastructure (PTTI) Policy with the country’s first common telecom tower under the LCS Group of Companies to be activated by DITO Telecommunity. DITO is the first mobile network operator (MNO) to take advantage of this DICT initiative, following the push for the growth and development of ITC’s (Independent Tower Companies).

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 24) A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Calatagan, Batangas early Saturday morning, state seismologists reported, noting aftershocks were expected. There was no immediate report of damage.
In an earthquake bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the tremor occurred at 4:49 a.m. at a depth of 116 kilometers. It was tectonic in origin, which means there was a movement in the Earth s crust.
It was immediately followed by a magnitude 5.1 quake at 4:57 a.m., which struck at a depth of 107 kms. In a follow-up advisory, Phivolcs upgraded it to magnitude 5.5.
No damage is expected in both events, Phivolcs noted.

The average number of daily new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in Metro Manila has increased to 851 cases during the July 16-22 period, OCTA Research said in its latest monitoring report released on Friday, July 23.
This is a 39 percent increase from the 613 cases per day during the July 9-15 period.
OCTA also observed a continuous increase in Metro Manila’s COVID-19 reproduction number.
As of Friday, its reproduction number was 1.21, which means that there is an increasing COVID-19 infection in Metro Manila.
OCTA pointed out that cases in Manila City, Caloocan City, and Valenzuela City increased by more than 40 percent.
