A CONTROVERSIAL plan to build more than 20 homes on the edge of the city has been rejected over concerns it would harm the landscape. The plan by PJ Developments would see 21 four-bed homes built on a paddock off Egg Lane in Claines on the edge of Worcester next to the busy A449. Planning officers at Wychavon District Council have rejected the plan because it was the wrong mix of homes and that it was outside a development boundary by the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP). A report by council offers outlining the objection said: There are significant adverse environmental impacts associated with the development proposed. Firstly, the development would result in harm to the landscape character and visual amenity of the area [.] and secondly, there is insufficient information to determine the impact of the proposal upon protected species.
