The Warrnambool Community Garden is set to unveil an exciting energy project at it s weekly market on Wednesday afternoon.
The project consists of a 6.6 kW solar system mounted on the HUB building with the solar array helping to reduce on-site power usage and provide power to the Quarry redevelopment project.

The $8,000 project is a partnership between Warrnambool Community Garden, South West Community Energy and Warrnambool City Council and builds on the hard work of many volunteers, supporters and friends of the partner organisations.
The project funds have been loaned to the Warrnambool Community Garden as a zero-interest loan to purchase the brand-new expanded solar PV system. The loan is to be repaid in instalments over 8 years, after

Great South Coast alliance meets in Portland
Elected local government officials and key industry representatives from across the Great South Coast converged on Portland today (February 26) for a forum to discuss priorities for the region.
Glenelg Shire Council hosted the meeting, the first of the year for the Great South Coast alliance of Councils.
Chair of the Great South Coast Group Anita Rank said the meeting allowed delegates to develop a greater understanding of Portland’s role in the Great South Coast.
“It’s been fantastic to host our local leaders in Portland today to discuss what lies ahead for the region and what issues and opportunities the Great South Coast Group will be prioritising and pursuing through 2021 and beyond,” Cr Rank said.

New wayfinding signs for mountain bike trail
Making the most of Warrnambool’s mountain bike trail has been made easier thanks to new directional signs.
A total of 60 signs have been installed at the Thunder Point mountain bike trail, directing people along three different loops.
Council provided $15,000 for the project via the Small Infrastructure Fund, with Warrnambool Mountain Bike Club volunteers installing the signs over a series of working bees along 7km of trail.

Club Treasurer Graeme Wines said that the new signs made riding the trail easier for everyone, especially new riders.
