Jasper Lumber announces $45 million expansion, to create 60 jobs

Jasper Lumber Co. and Canada’s Tolko Industries Ltd. have formed a partnership that will expand lumber production at a Walker County facility through a $45 million project creating at least 60 jobs.

Jasper Lumber Co. today announced a partnership with Canada’s Tolko Industries Ltd. which will expand lumber production at its Walker County facility, through a $45 million project projected to create at least 60 jobs.
Plans call for new construction, new machinery and more shifts at the sawmill. Construction should begin in early 2021.
Jasper Lumber COO Roy Beall said the partnership will allow the company to expand its capacity from 70 million board feet to approximately 200 million. The expansion is also expected to create other spin-off jobs.
