HENRICO COUNTY, Va. - On her days off, you can sometimes find Greenwood Elementary School teacher, Sarah Pena, at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
She takes some of the things she learns back to her students. I think art is a universal language because students can come into a classroom and they can have the same materials in front of them, said Pena. âAnd they re able to approach it from their own perspective.

More than 400 students, faculty, and guests attended the Liberty University Helms School of Government’s Culture & Crisis conference held virtually on Friday and Saturday.
The highly anticipated forum assembled 70 presenters to pitch research related to constitutionalism and federalism in a time of crisis.
The event was co-sponsored by the Helms School’s Journal for Statesmanship and Public Policy and addressed an array of public policy and culture subjects from a biblical worldview, including critical race theory, the Bible and the Constitution, and the origins of cancel culture. Presenters included Liberty students and faculty; faculty from other universities; and members from the Heritage Foundation, Forge Leadership, and the Virginia Family Foundation.

Virginia teacher raises money to buy students ukuleles
A teacher at Skipwith Elementary School in Henrico raised money to buy 85 ukuleles for her students to be able to play.

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. â One lesson Skipwith Elementary School music teacher Sophie Harrison loves to teach is how to play the ukulele. We do recorders in the fourth grade, and then for the fifth graders, Harrison said. âI think it s a great kind of transition to be able to play songs that are more popular with them.
But when Harrison wanted to change the tune and add ukuleles to the musical lineup, she ran into an issue.
