Parents have been juggling with work, household chores, parenting and homeschooling and it seems to be an impossible task to many. And one mother was left heartbroken when her son made a drawing. The drawing the little child drew depicted how the mother wasn t able to give him attention. Priya Amin, the CEO of Flexable, said that her six-year-old son had drawn her a picture of what she looks like working from home for all parents amid the pandemic.

A lucid dream is a dream in which you know you are dreaming. I have had them fairly regularly since I was a child, and recently, I have been using this altered state of consciousness to create artworks. When you are in a lucid dream, you interact with an environment guided and influenced by your thoughts. To put it simply, if you expect something to happen, then it probably will, but not necessarily in the precise way you wanted. A lucid dream is a mixture of conscious intent and often surprising and random events in reaction to that intent. This dynamic plays itself out on the page when I am drawing inside my lucid dream. Most of the time, I draw a single line before the dream takes over and fills the page with bizarre imagery.

Before the pandemic, Penn State student Amara Eke created art full of color and messages of social justice. However, students like Eke (senior-fine arts) now are working toward finding artist inspiration in the midst of uncertainty. Nearly a year since the shutdown of the country, Eke defined her experience as âreally humbling.â Previously, Eke âwas doing really big, large scale acrylic paintingsâ and now uses âcolored pencils on a sketch pad.â â[The pandemic] kind of forces you to be creative in ways that you were not usually being creative in,â Eke said.
