Rajasthan: 2 govt officers, agent held in graft case, Rs 91 lakh seized ANI | Updated: Apr 11, 2021 11:13 IST
Ajmer (Rajasthan) [India], April 11 (ANI): The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested two Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS) officers and their agent and seized Rs 91 lakh from their residence under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The officers were posted in Ajmer s Revenue Board and identified as B L Meharda (1996-batch) and Sunil Sharma (1994-batch)
Their agent Sashikant, Ajmer-resident, has also been nabbed by the ACB.
There were several complaints against both officers for favouring the parties by taking bribe from them. Thus, the ACB continuously monitoring their activities for the past five months, police said.

Experts have voiced a unanimous opinion that tax reforms, coupled with increased fiscal powers for provinces, will significantly improve revenue collection by the country.
Sharing their views at a public-private dialogue held to discuss pre-budget proposals and business regulations on Wednesday, they stressed that sales tax should be collected by the provinces instead of federal agencies.

President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with the newly appointed Emir of Kagara in Niger State, Alhaji Ahmad Garba Gunna.
In a statement on Wednesday by his Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, the president urged the new emir, who was until his appointment the Chairman of the state’s Revenue Board, to use the wealth of experience garnered in the public sector to serve his people, and bring development to his domain.
With the security challenges facing the country, the president equally urged the new emir to be known as Ahmad Attahiru II, to use his position as a grassroots personality, to engender protection of lives and property, stressing that the traditional institution has a great role to play in security.
