Line Honours for Carlo Alberini s Pendragon in the the Regata dei Tre Golfi by Rolex Capri Sailing Week 16 May 20:53 BST 10-17 May 2021 A memorable and unprecedented Tre Golfi regatta is currently under way, with weather conditions providing racing that is as fast as it is demanding. The weather forecast prior to yesterday s start proved to be correct, with competitors facing a long upwind leg against rough seas in order to round the natural mark of the island of Ponza. A serious incident marked the early hours of this morning, when at 3 a.m. the Salona 37 Le Pelican, enrolled in the Tre Golfi in Class C as a participant in the ORC European Championship, disappeared from tracking screens. The conditions were particularly challenging, with two-metre waves, and we were sailing upwind on a port tack - commented a crew member who was on deck at the time of the accident - a result of a bad manoeuvre, in minutes we found ourselves in a critical situation with a carg

Fremantle to Exmouth Ocean Race - Indian crosses the finishing line at Exmouth © Bernie Kaaks Indian crossed the Exmouth finishing line at about 10:15 this morning, so her elapsed time of under three days shatters the record set by Ross Swanson s Syrenka 30 years ago by more than one and a half days. It was a difficult race, owner/skipper reported after the race, but we had a team of four talented young helmsmen on board so we rotated the helm regularly. At times we had more than 30 knots of wind and we were travelling at well over 20 knots, which made it a bit wet on board. We also had to battle our way passed Coral Bay, where the wind died out completely for a while, so we had a bit of everything.
