BALTIMORE (WBFF) – Baltimore’s newest department head, director of the Department of Public Works, was sworn in on July 2 but has refused to give interviews to the media to discuss plans to improve and clean up Baltimore.
Jason Mitchell is officially the new DPW director after taking his oath Friday morning inside City Hall. He hails from sunny Oakland, Calif. but the sun isn’t shining on the department as he refuses to do media interviews.
Mitchell is one of the highest-paid Baltimore City employees, bringing in $245,000 a year for the job of leading the department that has been plagued with problems in a city facing illegal dumping, trash heaps line the streets and a water billing system that has been marred with problems.
