Final tax clinic to be held Monday Article by May 30, 2021 The Barbados Revenue Authority will on Monday conclude its series of tax clinics held at the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW), headquarters on Dalkeith Road. It also brings to a close the extended filing and payment deadline for 2020 Personal Income Tax (PIT) returns. The clinics form part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to assist taxpayers through education and outreach. The authority is therefore urging all taxpayers who need assistance with password resets as well as navigation in TAMIS, to take advantage of the offsite service. The clinic will be in operation at this location from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Persons attending the clinic should walk with their identification card and their TAMIS information including the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) and the registration email address.

CBN Raises Capital Requirements for Payment Solutions Service Providers to N250m

By James Emejo The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) yesterday issued a new licence requirements for payment systems, increasing the minimum capital requirements for Payment Solutions Service Providers (PSSPs) to N250 million from N100 million. The new framework also reviewed downward, the capital requirements for licensing of Payment Solution Services (PSSs) to N100 million from N250 million. Capital requirement for the Switching and Processing licence remains unchanged at N2 billion, including Mobile Money Operator licence, which was retained at N2 billion. Others include the capital requirements for the Payment Terminal Service Provider (PTSP) licence, which remains at N100 million. The Super Agent licence was also maintained at N50 million.

Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, has been adjudged the Outstanding Public Leadership at the fifth Ghana CEO’s Summit held recently. The award was presented to the Commissioner-General by the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. A press statement from the GRA said the award was in recognition of the initiatives introduced at the GRA under the leadership of Rev. Owusu-Amoah. It said the initiatives had resulted in the achievement of significant milestones, including the revenue targets for two consecutive years.

This disclosure is contained in a document released by the apex bank on Monday, May 24, 2021, which stated that the eligibility for each licence category was tied to any corporate entity registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), with Memorandum and Article of Association (MEMART).
