Due to continued transportation issues and unsafe road conditions from the recent snowstorm, all City of Cheyenne and Laramie County government offices will remain closed for business on Wednesday. Non-essential employees are to remain home and shelter at this time to allow road crews to continue working on the routes, the Cheyenne/Laramie County Emergency Management Agency said in a news release.
The Cheyenne-Laramie County Health Department will also remain closed, and staff will be contacting patients that were scheduled for tomorrow’s clinics to reschedule their appointments.

State offices in Laramie County will be teleworking as much as possible, but the offices will not be physically open.

This is a message from Laramie County School District 1 on Tuesday, March 16th at 1:30 p.m. For the safety of all due to ongoing hazardous conditions in the community, and to allow Public Works staff to clear roadways, the district will be closed on Wednesday, March 17. School buildings and district facilities will be closed. Bus routes will not run, and all activities have been cancelled. Any closure or delay information beyond Wednesday will be communicated prior to 6 AM on Thursday, March 18th.

Gov. Gordon Issues Emergency Declaration After Historic Snowstorm
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon has issued an emergency declaration to facilitate a coordinated response in the aftermath of this past weekend s historic snowstorm.
Gordon says the declaration allows the director of the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security (WOHS) to mobilize state and federal personnel, resources and organizations to address the impacts of the storm.
It also directs the Adjutant General, in consultation with WOHS and the governor, to deploy, if needed, the Wyoming National Guard to areas of the state that have been identified for emergency assistance.
“The scale and intensity of this storm have caused severe impacts to our transportation infrastructure and agriculture producers,” said Gordon.
