WAYNESBORO And the award for “outstanding nurse practice during a pandemic” goes to Berkeley Glenn Elementary School’s Amanda Chatterton.
Chatterton is one of 10 school nurses recognized with the state award.
“It was very humbling, and I truly appreciate that the nursing program here in the school is recognized for all that we do,” said Chatterton, who lives in Augusta County. “We have a lot of dedicated nurses.”

Lida Clemens Snively, “Tootie”, beloved mother, grandmother, and devoted wife passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021. She was born on July 1, 1931 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, daughter of Melvin P. and Fern Snell Clemens. After graduating in 1949 from Martins Ferry High School, Lida went to the University of Pittsburgh where she studied chemistry and aspired to become a professional chemist. In 1956 she was married to her long time love Robert Snively and soon after they moved to the Shenandoah Valley and Waynesboro.
She became very active in her community and belonged to several civic groups and organizations including The Secretaries Club, ESA, and the Waynesboro Public Library. This eventually led to a 13 year career in the Treasurer’s Office for the City of Waynesboro where she retired in 1999. She also enjoyed many hobbies including dancing, bowling, sewing, gardening, and playing piano. But more than anything, she enjoyed spending time with family and frien
