FISHERSVILLE Diantha McCauley, director of the Augusta County Library, will retire on April 15 after 36 years as a member of the library’s staff.
An announcement will come soon, according to McCauley, about the library’s new director.
At age 66, McCauley said that now seemed like a good time to retire.
“It just seemed like a good time to step aside, and let someone younger take the reins,” McCauley said.

The Norfolk Tides announced their 2021 schedule, which begins on the road on April 6 in Nashville, with the home opener set for April 13 against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.
The 2021 season will see a change in schedule format and opponents, as the Tides will only play teams in the Southeast Division of the Triple-A East League. Most series will consist of six games against the same opponent, while Mondays will be a universal off day in the league each week.

The City of Charlottesville is under a Winter Storm Warning until 1 a.m. Friday. City of Charlottesville government offices will be closed on Thursday.
The Charlottesville Police Department would like to remind the community to stay safe on and off of the roads during this winter storm. Streets and sidewalks will likely become treacherous , which will make any type of travel extremely difficult.

The VHSL wrestling championship schedules at both the Salem Civic Center and the Virginia Beach Sports Center have been updated.
The decision to reschedule was made with the safety of VHSL competitors, coaches, officials, tournament management team, and media covering the championships in mind.
