BREAKING: Judge Rejects New Trial for Casper Man Who Shot Mother
A Natrona County District Court Judge on Monday ruled against a new trial for a Casper man convicted of murder in the shooting death of his mother.
Judge Daniel Forgey rejected defense attorneys argument that Andrew Steplock did not receive adequate representation during his November 2019 jury trial.
Andrew Steplock has exhausted virtually all of his legal options for a new trial. He does have the option of appealing Forgey s ruling to the Wyoming Supreme Court.
Prior to the trial, a psychologist for the Wyoming State Hospital determined that Steplock did not lack substantial capacity as a result of mental illness or deficiency, to appreciate the wrongfulness of his conduct or to conform his conduct to the requirements of law.

In January, former Buffalo Chamber of Commerce CEO Angela Fox filed an appeal of her convictions with the Wyoming Supreme Court.
In May of 2019 Fox was found guilty of three counts of felony theft stemming from her use of chamber of commerce credit cards to make personal purchases for just over $8,600 and was sentenced to two to five years for each count, to run consecutively.
Her sentence was suspended except for 90 days and she was given 10 years of supervised probation until restitution in the amount of just over $16,000 is paid to the chamber of commerce.

Evanston gun rule invalid

EVANSTON Uinta County School District No. 1’s Rule CKA, which allows for approved staff to carry concealed firearms on district property, has again been ruled invalid, this time by the Wyoming Supreme Court.
The history of the district’s rule is lengthy, contentious and complicated.
