That’s a wrap! The Hottest 100 of 2020 is now locked into the countdown history books. But is it really all over if we haven’t pored over all the weird facts and figures from your fave songs from The Very Weird, No Good Year that was? Glass Animals took out the #1 spot and there’s a neat inforgraphic but as is annual tradition, it’s time to pick over all the statistics and trivia in detail. Let’s do it! 66 songs in the countdown came from Australian artists. That’s tied with 2016 as the biggest year for Aussie artists in the Hottest 100! The last three years, it’s been 65 Aussie songs, so it’s nice to finally pip that figure.

Hottest 200: other hottest songs of 2020

Following Glass Animals topping the Hottest 100, we’ve now counted down the other hundred hottest songs of 2020.  The Hottest 200 is the countdown for those wondering ‘where the heck did my other votes go!?’ and the artist who just missed making the main event? Hottest 100 winner finally crowned

UK indie rock band Glass Animals for National Hit. Music by Bella Fowler Australia has voted.  Booster Seat and Flume and Toro y Moi s The Difference, Glass Animals Heat Waves has nabbed the coveted position of Triple j s Hottest 100 after eight long, boozy hours for Aussie music lovers. It was a big year for the band, Heat Waves being their third song in the countdown today. Speaking to hosts Hobba and Hing from London following the result, frontman Dave Bayley said he planned to follow through with an earlier promise to have a map of Australia tattooed on his bum if the track won.
