Taking a swipe at what she described as society s penchant for vilifying people publicly before they ve been convicted of a crime, Scammell said McLachlan, charged with sexually assaulting four of his co-stars, was strategically targeted and made a real-life villain despite his impeccable reputation in the entertainment industry.
The Home and Away stars claims he hit the rock bottom and attempted suicide as he was in despair after he was accused of sexually assaulting fellow actors.

McLachlan agreed to the Seven interview so people could see the devastating impact the accusations had on him and his family. I thought I d experienced some rock-bottom moments in my life, but nothing comes close to this, he said in the interview, reports The Australian.

Scammell says in Monday s trailer that McLachlan was abandoned by everybody after the allegations against him came out.
Earlier this month, McLachlan said his life had been ruined in another teaser trailer for the bombshell interview. You see this is not just about a headline for the day, this is ruining lives, he said in the earlier promo.
