SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/ANN): Nine contracts worth about RM1 billion (S$321 million) have been awarded for system works for the Johor Baru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, said the rail link s operator RTS Operations (RTSO).
In an update on Wednesday (May 12), the operator, a joint venture between Singapore rail operator SMRT and Malaysian public transport firm Prasarana, said these system works are progressing well .
It did not specify when these contracts were awarded.
Four of the contracts were for core systems, with Chinese firm CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive taking charge of the rail link’s rolling stock and the Malaysia and Singapore subsidiaries of Siemens Mobility handling the signalling system and platform screen doors.

SINGAPORE (CNA) – Nine contracts worth SGD320 million were recently awarded for systems works on the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, said operator RTS Operations.
RTS Operations – formed in 2020 as a joint venture between Singapore’s SMRT and Malaysian rail operator Prasarana – said yesterday that these works for the cross-border rail link are “progressing well”.
Of the nine contracts, four are for core systems, with China’s CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co awarded the contract for rolling stock while German firm Siemens Mobility won the contract for signalling system and platform screen doors.
Malaysia’s Sapura Rail Systems was awarded the contract for the communications and integrated supervisory control systems.

SINGAPORE: The Land Transport Authority (LTA) on Friday (Apr 30) handed over six MRT stations along the second stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line to train operator SMRT.
This marks a key milestone in the lead-up to the opening of the second stage of the Thomson-East Coast Line in the third quarter of this year, said LTA in a news release.

SINGAPORE: A new COVID-19 cluster linked to a cleaner working at a community care facility has been reported in Singapore, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Friday (Apr 30).
The cleaner, identified as Case 62553, is a 39-year-old Vietnamese woman who works as a cleaner deployed at a community care facility at Tuas South, said MOH.

Two of the nine new community cases in Singapore reported on Friday are linked to the cluster - a 41-year-old man who works as a sales assistant and a 26-year-old woman who works as a cleaner.
