With the original Sonic the Hedgehog released back in 1991, this year marks the blue hedgehog’s 30th birthday. Naturally, Sega is celebrating this with some new games.
There were several Nintendo rumors and leaks this week including a big one for the Nintendo Switch 'Pro'. If this keeps up, Nintendo's biggest reveals will be known before the big E3 Nintendo Direct.
During Sonic Central, the
Sonic Colors Ultimate remastered version was announced with a 2021 release date. Having a game revealed and launching in the same year will be exciting for fans of the blue hedgehog. Like Sonic, the reveal was fast and easy-to-miss, so here’s a recap of the info.
Sonic Colors Ultimate release date and supported platforms
The Sonic Colors Ultimate release date is September 7, 2021.
Sonic Colors Ultimate is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Support for next-gen systems, such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, hasn’t yet been confirmed. This means that console owners might not see a 4K 60 FPS remaster like they had perhaps hoped. However, the game is likely to prioritize 60 FPS across all platforms as most Sonic games do. Fast movement needs that high frame-rate to keep visuals looking smooth and inputs responsive.
