With the trend of relocating manufacturing hubs into Asia-Pacific, Vietnam is in a stellar spot to attract much of this high-tech smart manufacturing investment due to its advanced 4G and soon 5G digital infrastructure. Denis Brunetti, president of Ericsson in Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Laos, talked to VIRâs Bich Thuy about the latest preparations by Ericsson to further support Vietnam in tapping into this growth potential.

On Wednesday, 10 February 2021, Stockholm – the birthplace of fast-growing tech companies like Skype, Spotify and Klarna – will be joining forces with Cape Town, Africa’s Tech Capital and home to startups such as Aerobotics, SweepSouth and Sea Monster, to launch Cape Town / Stockholm Connect (CSC).
This is a platform that will bring together companies, developers, customers, investors, entrepreneurs, and institutions from across Cape Town and Stockholm via a series of activities. It will also serve as a meeting point and provide participants with well-organised matchmaking opportunities and company visits while also supporting individual requests.
The launch event will feature a diverse group of speakers sharing their insights about the startup landscape in both South Africa and Sweden. Two panel discussions will be taking place, each exploring the opportunities offered by these two cities.

Despite a challenging year across the board in 2020, tech titans still made gains from strong digital transformation demands.

Ericsson, a global leader in ICT services and solutions from Sweden, also made gains in Vietnam during 2020 with its prestige continuing to increase as an important partner in promoting the digital transformation of industries and enterprises.

Malaysia and Sweden have collaboratively introduced the Digital Health Innovation Challenge on Jan 15 2021. The Innovation Challenge invites startups registered in Malaysia to identify solutions in solving healthcare challenges, especially related to non-communicable diseases (NCD).
The initiative is a collaboration between Team Sweden, comprising of the Embassy of Sweden, Business Sweden and AstraZeneca; and Malaysian partners Sunway iLabs, Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).
