Landbank says it released P60B to UCT beneficiaries as of December 2020 Published April 29, 2021 3:03pm State-run lender Land Bank of the Philippines on Thursday said it has released P60.36 billion in unconditional cash transfers (UCTs) as of December 2020 to beneficiary-households of the Duterte administration s social mitigation program under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Act (TRAIN). These disbursements were from the program funds for the UCT released from March 2018 up to December last year, Landbank president-CEO Cecilia Borromeo said in a statement. In particular, from March 2018 to December 2020, a total of P22.53 billion was disbursed by the state lender to UCT beneficiaries from the UCT Program Funds under the  2018 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, AEV reported a consolidated net income of P7.6 billion for the January to March period, up 276% from the P2 billion recorded in the same period in 2020. “The first quarter of 2021 is solid proof that the Aboitiz Group is already making headway in its recovery and growth plans for the year,” said Sabin Aboitiz, Aboitiz Group president and CEO. The company said its power business accounted for 58% of the total income contributions during the period while financial services accounted for 29%.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III confirmed the schedule of the hearing and disclosed that Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez IIII and the Department of Justice have been invited. “I will convene the resumption of the [Committee of the Whole] on Tuesday and invite [Secretary] Dominguez to elaborate on his letter for the benefit of all senators. [Department of Agriculture and [Department of Justice are] also invited,” Sotto said in a text message to reporters.
